PGA Tour Legend Doug Sanders to Perform Exhibition at Highland Green Charity Golf Classic

Proceeds to Benefit Maine Alzheimer’s Association, Maine Chapter

Highland Green resort community in Topsham is hosting their inaugural Summer Charity Golf Classic on Saturday, August 25th. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association, Maine Chapter and the more than 30,000 families in Maine affected by Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia.
 
One of the program highlights is the appearance of PGA Tour legend Doug Sanders, who will serve as tournament host and perform a golf exhibition. Also included in the day’s events are a Skills Challenge, hole-in-one contest featuring a new Toyota, morning and afternoon golf flights, a “Skills Challenge,” and a silent auction and lobster dinner and dance. The Doug Sanders golf exhibition is free and open to the public.
 
Golf writer and Maine Hall of Famer Jim Dodson will serve as the emcee for the event, which also will highlight the recent plans for a full-scale Golf Learning Center at Highland Green. The Center will include a driving range, par 3 “Wee” course, short game practice areas, a banquet facility and the new Golf House headquarters for the Maine State Golf Association (MSGA) and Maine Golf Hall of Fame. Highland Green owner John Wasileski is donating a portion of land near the entrance of Highland Green that will serve as the home to the MSGA.
